Updating possible

No package ties you to a place. If you want to upgrade the package to a larger one in the future, we will upgrade the package to a larger one for a €5 service fee.

Can I install my own operating system on the servers?

We have a wide range of different Windows or Linux options to suit many different purposes. If none of these suits you, you can also use your own ISO file if you wish.

I can't connect to my Windows server

Windows servers do not have Remote Desktop enabled by default, so you must enable it separately using a VNC connection. You can do it easily by following the tutorial video we made.

My server can't find the network

Windows servers sometimes lose the network connection, for example during updates/reboot, in which case the Windows automation searches for the network settings incorrectly. In this case, they must be set up manually from Windows, for which you can find instructions here.

Where are the servers located?

All VPS servers are located in Lempäälä near Tampere in Tietokettu's own equipment space.

What kind of hardware do VPS servers work on?

Each VPS server works with fast DDR4 ECC memory and processing takes place with powerful Intel Xeon processors at 3.80Ghz speed.

What kind of network do the VPS servers have?

VPS servers operate on a shared 10Gb/s network, where each product has its own dedicated IPv4 address. However, the server is on a limited 1Gb/s network, but you can remove this limitation by opening a support ticket.

Why can't I use Windows on the smallest packages?

We have observed that Windows does not perform well with those resources in customer usage, as, for instance, the RAM memory easily fills up. Therefore, we recommend selecting a larger package to ensure that your processes run smoothly and efficiently. However, you can install Windows on the smallest packages after ordering, but we do not recommend it.

Can I test my ping to the servers before ordering?

Yes, you can. A good test address, for example, is 109.204.224.162. With that, you can test your ping latency.

Does the Windows license key come with the server?

No, we do not provide a Windows license with the server. The customer needs to acquire the license themselves.
