What all can I do to my server remotely?

With remote management, you can install the operating system you want from your own ISO image and manage your server's status remotely. We also offer good ready-made installation images for you, such as Proxmox, Debian, Almalinux and Windows. You only need an IDrack or ILO port for remote control. These ports are found on Dell and HP server machines.

Server requirements for the Colocation service

In order to bring a server machine to us, you must sign a written contract. The contract includes the transfer of responsibility for the device to you, as Tietokettu does not compensate for damages caused to the device, e.g. processor breakdown or disk failure. All parts are consumables and they wear out over time. For more information on these details, please contact customer service. You must also meet the criteria below:

  • 18 years of age
  • 100% ownership of the server machine
  • The server must not be included in the partial payment

Check out the service price list before ordering!

Each server machine follows the service price list and its price list, for example, in failure situations. If you bring the device to us without remote control, all physical procedures will be billed according to the service price list. You can find the service price list on our website. For this reason, it is worth getting remote management for the server machine, so that the maintenance of the service is efficient!

Additional services for Colocation!

Maintenance operations

Maintenance activities are invoiced according to the service price list, which consists of the order fee + hourly billing. If the maintenance is carried out at pre-arranged times, the maintenance is cheaper. You can arrange this kind of maintenance with a support ticket. In urgent situations, I recommend sending a text message or calling customer service.

IP addresses

You can get new IP addresses for the devices, for example for virtual machine use. We charge €2/IPv4 address and €0.25/IPv6 address. You can order more addresses via a support ticket. There will be a €5 service fee for new IP subscriptions.

Additional systems

If you want, you can also build physical closed intranets for the servers and acquire equipment for them. For example, a physical firewall or a physical internal network between two Colocation servers. Ask customer service for more information about these.
